Mountain Biking in Colorado 1998

Pennisula Recreation Area

This is a very nice Park near Frisco, bordering the Dillon Reservoir. There are only easy trails, but it provides a scenic hour's worth of riding and there is a very nice campground there.

Keystone

Keystone has many beautiful trails, including some rocky ones.
You can take the gondola up and save some of the climbing.
There is a nice lodge at the top of Keystone.
You can ride the road down the back way. It is very pretty and more relaxing than the frontside.
There are several nice places along the stream to take a break.

The Peaks Trail

This is my favorite trail anywhere. The Peaks trail runs from just above the Breckenridge ski area to Frisco. You can return to the Breckenridge area via a nice paved trail.
There are a number of nice technical stretches that will challenge all but the most expert bikers.
Beginners can walk the tough parts quite easily and ride the many more placid sections.
This section is easy and very pleasant.
This is a nice place to stop and look at the views and have a snack.
