Biking in Scotland 1998

Inverness - Loch Ness

A bike trail follows the Caledonian Canal between Inverness and Loch Ness.
One of many sailboats on the canal.
A foot bridge across the canal.
Urquhart Castle on the north side of Loch Ness.  They say the monster lives in the bay to the left of this castle.

This side of the loch has the castle, but a lot of traffic. The road on the other side of the loch is better for biking.
  Aha!
  Rainbow, horse and Loch Ness.

Inverness to Achnasheen

Bike at rest west of Inverness.
After riding up hill and into a stiff head wind all day, we were glad to find this teahouse and B&B between Inverness and Achnasheen.   The B&B was not open for business yet, but they took us in anyway.

(Beware, the town of Grudie does not exist!)
